Comedy plus...
... a sh*t ton more.

Dad wearing his new “Girl Dad” hat on Father’s Day in ol’ Wisconsin.
Have you ever felt like there was, more?
More you were supposed to do — an asterisk next to your current “elevator pitch title” or job that explained the elaborate expectations you have for your life?
I feel this way all the time. People ask “what do you do” and I’m like “I’m a comedian but also…” and then my brain just goes stop there Natasha nobody cares ‘what else.’ 🙈
I’m not the type of person who actually enjoys pitching myself, or even answering basic questions like what’s my job (although not gonna lie, people LOVE to meet comedians — or love to force shitty jokes on us, or make us TELL them a joke — which is always our favorite).
It’s hard to sum up the essence of a person or their interests into a singular job title or career. Why do you think so many people are multi-hyphenates these days?
Peep any Instagram or Linked in bio and it’ll be some bullshit like:
“CEO of My Own Energy™ | Trauma-Informed Storytelling Doula | Neurodivergent-Aware Funnel Architect | Luxury Rebrand Advisor for Spiritually Misaligned Startups | Human Design x KPIs Specialist | Strategic Partnerships & Community Ecosystem Architect | Fractional Chief Vibes Officer | Cross-Functional Culture Evangelist | AI-Empowered Inner Child Whisperer | Globally Booked, Emotionally Boundaried | Author of “The Algorithm Is You” (coming soon) | Taking 2 new 1:1s ✨ DM to activate 💬🔮📲”
(Ha! After writing this I kinda want to meet this insane person, and they also kind of sound like Matthew McConaughey — totally had to Google how to spell his last name despite his infinite tenured fame).
The truth is, wherever any of us are, I think it’s human nature to strive for more. And I’ve always had a vision for my life that was, dare I say, pretty boundless.
You ever notice how no one asks Elon Musk if he’s “still doing that car thing”? (really sorry to use him as an example… but just float with me here)
Or if Rihanna is “still singing”?
No. Because when creatives and moguls expand, it’s vision. And ya gotta be a little bit psychotic and delusional to hit billionaire status, right?
Right now, I’m building something bigger than a career. I’m not fully certain what that looks like yet, but my craft in comedy is for sure the through-line, and everything stemming off from it is starting to make sense.
Lest we call this path, a journey. (A fucking tiring one at times).
And no, I can’t explain it in one sentence.
But if you’ve ever felt like your ideas didn’t fit inside a box, welcome. You're not broken. You’re just building beyond — or at least trying to tune in to what it all is supposed to mean for you.
So the hustle this week?
It’s giving yourself permission to be multifaceted as hell. (Maybe with a little more tact in your IG bio than the fabricated guru above).
Your voice might be your brand. But your vision — that’s something nobody can replicate. Your magnum opus, if you will.
The Hustle
It can be challenging for even the people closest to you to understand what you’re up to when your vision is a vast one. And that’s fine.
When you’re a layered creative, people can often assume you’re all over the place… When in reality, you’re just in the middle of building something so layered, it doesn’t make sense yet — even to you.
I used to think if I couldn’t explain it, it meant I was doing it wrong.
But now I think: the best things I’ve created didn’t have a clear elevator pitch at the start. They had feelings. Hunches. Action.
They had me, showing up again and again, even when I didn’t know what the hell I was doing. (Still don’t, some days — in case you missed my drop two weeks ago, “Nobody knows what they’re doing”).
My favorite thing about comedy is any show is a singular event. Never to be replicated. If one goes worse than expected, the next can do the opposite. You also can’t overthink anything while you’re on stage — ya just got the words comin’ out of your mouth and the act of being the most present ever and having fun. It’s honestly the best.
But when it comes to the business side of entertainment and running yourself as a business, it can be overwhelming at times.
Here’s what I’m focusing on to bring everything into clear view in my current hustle:
Saying YES to anything that feels aligned, and NO to anything that just, doesn’t
Allowing my timeline to “look weird,” because time is nonlinear anyways
Making a list of all I’d like to get done in a given week (which, I honestly expect a LOT out of myself — working on that) and giving myself grace and flexibility to focus on what needs to get done or what sounds fun to work on at a given time
The nice thing here? Nobody’s really paying attention to you until they are — everyone’s focused on their own shit. So maybe we can lighten up a bit on ourselves and allow people to follow or not follow the journey when it piques their interest.
The Chill
This weekend I was with my family in Wisconsin. Couldn’t have asked for a better or more needed weekend.
We laughed, we dined, we drank hard kombuchas, we farmer’s marketed, we played bags (cornhole, if ya nasty), we golfed, we played cards, we pedicured (not as a family, but my mom and I at a nail salon, cuz that’d be fucking weird if we did family pedis over beers).
It was honestly exactly what I needed, and they needed it too.
My family kinda gets it now, and by that I mean they know I have various things in the works and they just understand how to be curious in conversation. They are trained now. They also know I don’t even have all the answers.
I had really good 1:1 chats with all my family this weekend.
With my dad, it was pretty heartfelt. I understand my dad better than anyone, and we just open up to each other in ways he doesn’t always get from other people in the family. With my mom, it was more on mindset shifting — gratitude and choosing to enjoy your life even when the work you’re doing isn’t fulfilling (LOL she despises her job, but she’s very good at it).
Part of my ever hustle has been to be in a place ASAP where I can retire my parents. But also, part of the hustle is making sure that while I’m getting to that place, I help keep everyone’s mentals as grounded as possible, including my own.
Honestly, that’s the real work, isn’t it?
Not just building something massive, but making sure your people are okay.
Making sure you’re okay.
Making time for things and people that remind you where you came from and why you’re doing any of this in the first place.
So if today’s not your most productive day, that’s fine.
You’re not behind — you’re just human.
And sometimes, the chill is the strategy. A reset.
Let your brain breathe this week. The rest of it will make sense when you get some air.
Some current musings
Right now I’m in a three-month partnership with an incredible Med Spa here in Chicago, Dvida. It’s been important to me to show women (and yes, men too) that they have options for anti-aging without botox, invasive treatments, fillers, chemical peels… all the junk I just don’t want to do. I’m a basic bitch LOL.
They are having a big event tomorrow, June 18th, and giving away a bunch of stuff! They aren’t paying me to drop this in my newsletter (I promise to never “sell” anything in here unless it’s tickets, I’m an owner of said thing, or it’s something I fucking LOVE), but it’s going to be a great day to get free treatments and win thousands worth in prizes if anyone would love to join! Also, code: NATCHI20 for 20% off anything they offer.
I’ll be sharing some of the treatments I’m having done over the next few months, but my personal requirements were: Non-invasive/no downtime, no synthetics or injectables, nothing that I can’t workout the next day, all natural. I’ve LOVED my experience so far and how they’ve customized a plan for a basic bitch like me.
